We affirm the names and attributes established in the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah in a manner befitting Allah, without distortion, denial, asking how, or likening Him to creation.

The rule
Allah is unlike His creation, while His names and attributes are affirmed as revelation affirms them.

Why this matters
Knowing that Allah hears, sees, knows, is merciful and wise changes prayer, repentance, reliance and conduct.

Avoid two extremes
Do not strip the texts of their meanings, and do not liken Allah to His creation.

Practice
Study the names of Allah from revelation and connect each name to worship, supplication and conduct.
